Year-Round School Vote Is Delayed

Los Angeles Unified School District officials have decided to take two more weeks to work out issues remaining in their plan to put all the district’s schools into year-round operation this summer.
The calendar for the 1991-92 school year had been scheduled for a public hearing and vote next Monday. But Supt. Bill Anton, in announcing the two-week delay Wednesday, said district staff is still trying to refine details in such areas as athletic schedules, testing for college-credit classes and courses offered between regular sessions. Officials expect to reschedule the vote for April 1.
