USAir Predicts Loss: USAir, which plans to reduce service in California to stem losses, said the red ink would continue in 1991. In a filing with the SEC, USAir said it expects a first-quarter operating loss greater than the $168-million operating loss it reported for the fourth quarter of 1990. The Washington-based airline said its operations would lose money for all of 1991 but less than the $350 million lost in 1990. The airline blames the recession and decline in air traffic since the outbreak of the Gulf crisis. A USAir spokeswoman said the airline made the filing after the financial markets closed.
