Altadena : Nonprofit Town Council
The Town Council, which has served as the community’s volunteer public advisory body since 1976, has decided to become a nonprofit corporation as a shield against lawsuits.
“The intent is to insulate the council and protect its individual members from lawsuits,” said attorney Alex Aghajanian, a former Town Council member who is spearheading the incorporation move.
A three-member committee of Town Council members appointed by Chairman Robert Powe will meet with Aghajanian before the April 16 council meeting to gather more information about the process.
