Five County Football Players Selected for Shrine All-Star Game at Rose Bowl

Five Orange County prep football players have been selected to play for the South team in the 40th California Shrine All-Star football game July 27 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.
Quarterback Rob Johnson and linebacker Brian Haas of El Toro, wide receiver Tyler Cashman of Los Alamitos, offensive tackle James Christensen of Servite and linebacker Mike Burns of Esperanza were selected by South co-coaches Dick Barrett (Lompoc) and Gary Meek (Esperanza).
Johnson declined the invitation because he did not want to be involved in an all-star game so close to the start of fall practices at USC. Johnson was replaced by Carson quarterback John Walsh.
