La Verne : Pelota Park Compromise
The City Council on Monday approved a compromise in a dispute between La Verne Little League and La Verne-San Dimas Pop Warner Youth Football over which organization should use Pelota Park.
Because of its growth, Little League had asked to use the park throughout the year, which would have meant ousting Pop Warner.
Instead, the council voted 5 to 0 to allow both groups to continue using the park for up to two years, while the city locates new facilities for one of them. Representatives of both groups said they can live with the compromise.
