Colton’s Faria Wins Speedway Main Event

COSTA MESA — Mike Faria of Colton won the four-lap scratch main event in front of 2,853 in the weekly speedway program Friday at the Orange County Fairgrounds.
Gary Hicks of Riverside was second, Louis Kossuth of Diamond Bar third and Shawn McConnell of Brea fourth.
Chris Manchester of Hesperia won the eight-lap handicap main event. Charlie Venegas of Costa Mesa was second, Hicks third, Josh Larssen of Newport Beach fourth and Brad Oxley of San Juan Capistrano fifth.
Lee Edwards of Northridge won the five-lap second division main, and Jim Estes of Manchester won the four-lap third division main.
