Tandon Corp., a Moorpark personal computer company, reported a 12% increase in net income in the first quarter that ended March 31, to $7.8 million from $7 million a year earlier. Revenues rose 7% to $112.7 million from $105.1 million.
The company said the growth in the latest quarter was largely due to increased sales of higher-priced computers. Tandon’s biggest market is Western Europe, accounting for 90% of its revenues, although sales in the United States grew to 10% from 5% at the end of 1990, the company said.
