Aaron Wilhite Will Transfer to NC-Charlotte

FULLERTON — Sophomore center Aaron Wilhite, the second-leading scorer and rebounder on the Cal State Fullerton basketball team last season, announced Monday that he will transfer to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
The 6-foot-7, 225-pound Wilhite decided to leave Fullerton because he was unhappy playing the center position--he felt his skills were more suited to forward--and was concerned with recent unrest in the Titan basketball program.
A release issued by the NC-Charlotte sports information department lists Wilhite as a “power forward.”
He recently made a recruiting trip to the school and was impressed with its business program and coaching staff, which is headed by Jeff Mullins.
“I enjoyed the atmosphere of the campus, community and my new teammates on the visit,” Wilhite said in the release. “I always thought about playing on the East Coast.”
Wilhite will sit out the mandatory one academic year under NCAA guidelines and will be eligible as a junior for the 1992-93 season.
