‘Dallas’ Views: Actor Larry Hagman thinks “Dallas” helped bring down the Iron Curtain by giving East bloc residents a peep at the good life in the West. “I think the opulence, the consumerism, the food, the cars--these things (people) want more than their governments provided them,” Hagman told People magazine. “You take people who don’t have any food to a . . . supermarket, they’re going to want to stay.” The series finishes its 13-year run Friday.
