No ‘Nostromo’: French producer Serge Silberman said Monday he was abandoning plans to film Joseph Conrad’s novel “Nostromo” following the death of Sir David Lean, who was set to direct. Lean had just completed work on the script when his health began to deteriorate. He died two weeks ago at 82.
