Pollution Research and Control Corp., a Glendale producer of air-pollution monitoring equipment, said it earned $118,000 in the first quarter, compared with an $85,000 loss a year earlier.
PRC also announced that it changed its fiscal year for reporting its financial results to a calendar year ending Dec. 31. Its previous fiscal year ended June 30.
The earnings in the quarter ended March 31 came despite a 13% drop in PRC’s revenue, to $1.3 million from $1.5 million. PRC said a substantial portion of the previous year’s revenue stemmed from unprofitable operations since discontinued by the company.
