Business Inventories Down for Second Month: Businesses cut their inventories 0.8% in March, the government reported, and analysts said the second straight decline could mean increased production and jobs as soon as sales improve. The Commerce Department said overall business sales in March declined 1% to a seasonally adjusted $522.6 billion, erasing a slight 0.2% gain a month earlier.
