News Corp.: The Sydney, Australia, media conglomerate said its third-quarter profit fell 57% to $3.6 million after it took $150 million in charges related to refinancing its debt. Revenue rose 19% to $2 billion. The company, which owns 20th Century Fox, said the recession and a slump in advertising dampened earnings.
