Dealing With World Disasters

Picture this: A dozen or more Western and Arab nations actually cooperate and send hundreds of thousands of men and women, hundreds of ships, thousands of vehicles and aircraft and massive amounts of food and equipment to an area desperately in need of international help. The Persian Gulf? Well, how about Bangladesh? Or any other area of the world where people need peaceful means of sustaining life, not military solutions to kill thousands. Maybe this is naive, but why can’t the U.S. and the developed countries exert the same kind of technology and power to save human life as they do to destroy it?
