San Diego police are investigating the death of a woman who was found Friday morning in a drainage ditch near the northbound lanes of California 163 downtown.
The body was found by a stranded motorist, causing a slowdown in traffic during rush hour.
The woman, who county medical examiner’s officials said was between 20 and 30 years old, was discovered by a man who was walking north along the freeway to use a call box. He found the body in the ditch just south of the Quince Street off-ramp, Police Department spokesman Bill Robinson said.
The woman was fully clothed, Robinson said. She was wearing lavender pants, a multicolored blouse and black sandals.
