Lott, Craig Participating in Raider Mini-Camp

The Raiders will conclude a three-day mini-camp for veterans today with two practices and meetings at the team’s training facility in El Segundo.

Participating in the workouts are more than 60 returning veterans, Plan B free agents including former San Francisco 49ers Ronnie Lott and Roger Craig, trade acquisitions and veteran free agents.

Among the notables missing are Marcus Allen, the unsigned tailback who has made a ritual of skipping camps in recent years, and veteran strong safety Mike Harden, who has been waived because of neck and vertebrae problems and is expected to retire.

Harden’s strong safety position will be assumed by Lott.

Linebacker Winston Moss and defensive end Greg Mark, acquired in trades, are also participating.

First-round choice Todd Marinovich and other draft selections are not at the mini-camp this week because of an agreement between the NFL and the NCAA that limits rookies to one mini-camp before June 1. Marinovich and other draftees participated in a rookie camp earlier this month.

Several unsigned veterans, including tailback Greg Bell, have chosen to attend workouts. Defensive end Greg Townsend, who signed a million-dollar contract last summer, will exercise a clause in the deal that allows him to renegotiate because he was selected to the Pro Bowl last season.
