Societal Child Abuse

Thank you for the excellent series, “Growing Up in America, the Reality of Childhood Today.” Hopefully, you have educated a few more people about the issues that impact the lives of our children.
We cannot continue to write off groups of children because they are poor or represent a particular ethnic population. As your article points out, that attitude does not serve us well now or in the end.
There are hundreds of studies and reports providing us with all the statistics we need on these critical issues.
In this country, we talk a great deal about children being a priority. Your series shows we do not mean what we say. Our society must develop the will to serve and protect our youngest citizens now. You and I are individual members of that society. Let it begin with each of us.
