Oak Park Promotes Bolyog in Baseball

Michael Bolyog has been named baseball coach at Oak Park High, according to Fred Yamano, the school’s athletic director.
Bolyog, 41, coached Villanova Prep from 1983-89 and compiled a 106-61 record. Villanova Prep reached the Southern Section Small Schools Division semifinals in 1989, falling to eventual champion Rosamond.
Bolyog, who coached the Oak Park junior varsity this past season, replaces Scott Randles, who left the school after two seasons and moved to Riverside County.
Oak Park finished 12-8 overall and tied for second in Tri-Valley League play at 7-5 last season. “We should have a pretty decent ballclub coming back,” Bolyog said. “This is as much talent as I’ve been around in a long time.”
