Look See Wins Belmont Feature

NEW YORK — Look See pressed the pace into the stretch and edged front-running Currently Red by a nose in the $37,000 Specious for 3-year-olds and up on the turf Friday at Belmont Park.

The victory was the third in four starts for Look See, a 3-year-old son of Conquistador Cielo, making his first start on turf. He carried Jerry Bailey 1 1/16 miles in 1:41 to earn $22,200 and return $9.80, $4.40 and $3.

Currently Red, with jockey Angel Cordero, was 4 1/4 lengths ahead of favorite Solar Splendor in the five-horse field. Currently Red paid $4 and $2.80. Solar Splendor, ridden by Herb McCauley, paid $2.40.
