Three Nadadore Divers Win at Junior Olympics

Three Mission Viejo Nadadore divers won their events at the Junior Olympic Zone D championships Friday at the Rose Bowl Aquatic Center in Pasadena.

Nate Smith won the boys’ 16-18 three-meter event with a score of 510.50. Sandy Zubrin won the girls’ 14-15 platform (276.40), and Tyce Routson finished first in the boys’ 14-15 platform (325.45).

The top seven finishers in each event advance to the national championships July 25-28 in Clayton, Mo.

Other Nadadore qualifiers were Jason Hubbart, who finished sixth in the boys’ 16-18 three-meter diving (397.10); Summer Brown, who was second in the girls’ 14-15 platform (256.20); Amy Sloan, who finished fifth in the girls’ 14-15 platform (237.35), and Jeff Nichols, who was second in the boys’ 14-15 platform (300.05).
