Minnesota Viking defensive tackle Keith Millard crashed a 1991 Corvette about three minutes before 11 p.m. Monday and left the scene on foot to rush the two blocks to his dorm room to make the team’s 11 p.m. curfew, police said.
The car crashed into a planter, cracking the windshield and inflating the airbag.
Police identified Millard through a license plate check and interviewed him at his dormitory about 11:15 p.m., Commander Michael Mountain said. “Millard did not have signs of intoxication,” officers wrote in their report.
Damage to the car was estimated at $7,500 and damage to the restaurant’s landscaping was estimated at $700. Millard was not injured or ticketed. He told the officers he would have been fined $1,500 for missing curfew.
John Fourcade, who caught on with the Saints as a quarterback during the strike of 1987, was cut by New Orleans. . . . Quarterback Babe Laufenberg was released by the Dallas Cowboys.
