Satellite Check-In: If you want to get airline passengers to check into your hotel, bring the hotel to the passengers.
That’s the concept behind the Hyatt Regency Irvine’s newly opened a satellite check-in desk at John Wayne Airport. Hotel guests can pick up their room key, and their baggage is delivered directly to the room.
The system allows guests to proceed directly to business meetings or elsewhere without having to stop at the hotel. If they wish to go directly to the 536-room hotel, there is a complimentary shuttle.
“A need for this type of service has always existed,” said Cody Plott, a regional vice president for Hyatts of Southern California.
