Kemper Corp. has named David B. Mathis chairman and chief executive, effective Feb. 1.
Mathis, who will retain his position as president and chief operating officer, will succeed Joseph E. Luecke, who will be 65 in February.
Mathis joined the Long Grove, Ill.-based insurance concern as an intern in the San Francisco office in 1956. He was elected president and chief operating officer in May of last year.
