The city’s cable television channel, CityTV, captured two first-place awards recently at the 14th annual Hometown USA Video Festival sponsored by the National Federation of Local Cable Programmers.
The program “Berlin Zoo,” directed and edited by Brian Murphy and written and performed by Peter Roses, took first place in the “performing arts” and “innovative” categories.
The video is an adaptation of the stage play with the same title, which details the manic escapades and wild fantasies of a moody young American Jew in Berlin in the early 1980s.
CityTV, run by the city’s cable TV division, is carried by Century Southwest Cable in Santa Monica and can be seen on cable channel 16.
