Take It Off: Atlantic Records reportedly has decided to remove the company name and logo from 2 Live Crew’s upcoming release, “Sports Weekend (As Nasty as They Wanna Be II)” after the Florida rap group’s leader Luther Campbell refused to delete two sexually explicit tracks that Atlantic officials found offensive. Last summer, Atlantic executives cited concern for free speech principles as a primary reason for inking a distribution deal with Campbell’s independent Luke Records label.
