**** Dr. Michael White, “Crescent City Serenade,” Antilles. Clarinetist White, 35, is among a new generation of musicians from New Orleans trying to preserve the authenticity of traditional jazz. Featuring such contemporaries as Wynton Marsalis plus a few veterans, White’s major-label debut showcases his wide-as-the-Mississippi vibrato, fat, woody tone and melodically rich soloing.
