**** Benny Green, “Greens,” Blue Note. Green, 27, has something more here than just another piano album. The trio is unified, with each player--the others are Carl Allen (drums) and the supple 19-year-old Christian McBride (bass)--contributing significantly to the overall effect. Typically, in “Cute,” Green’s parallel lines on piano, McBride’s bowed solo and Allen’s deft brush work are equally valuable. The Green originals, mostly blues variants, are attractive vehicles.
