NEWPORT BEACH : Awards to Be Given for Library Readers
- Share via
More than 1,300 children who participated in the city library’s summer reading programs are invited to a recognition program at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Newport Center branch, 856 San Clemente Drive.
Awards will be given to those who helped raise money for the new library by joining the Read-A-Thon, sponsored by the Newport Beach Public Library Foundation. The children raised money by soliciting sponsors for books they read.
Participants in the library’s second summer reading program entitled, “Out of This World, Extraterrestrial Reading,” also will be recognized during the program. Local entertainer Barbara Klein will present a puppet show.
For information on the program, call (714) 644-3131.
