Quayle on Lawyers
Thanks to Quayle’s remarks that lawyers are responsible for America’s loss of competitive position in the global economy, we now know who constructed those shoddy gas-guzzlers that would not sell; who made those TV sets with fuzzy pictures; who designed those antiquated cameras; who mismanaged those rusting steel plants, etc. It was my colleagues, the lawyers of America! Twenty years as a lawyer and I never noticed this before, foolishly thinking it was businessmen and engineers who made America’s unwanted products. How could I have been so blind?
