A 14-year-old Oxnard boy who had escaped from a Ventura detention center was arrested Thursday in Oxnard on suspicion of burglary, authorities said.
The unidentified youth was apprehended with Angel Gonzalez, 20, of Oxnard about 11:30 a.m. after a neighbor called police about what she believed to be a burglary in progress at a house in the 2000 block of North Ventura Road, police said.
A witness followed Gonzalez and the youth to an apartment on Mariposa Drive, where police found them hiding. Property stolen during the burglary was recovered inside the apartment, police said.
