Contract With Mexico: Miralite Communications Inc., a Newport Beach supplier of satellite equipment, said it has recently negotiated a two-year contract with the government of Sonora state in northern Mexico to provide satellite equipment and upgrade Sonora’s telecommunications network.
The initial contract is valued at $3.5 million, said Joe Zerucha, Miralite’s director of international projects. This is the latest of six projects Miralite has contracted for with Mexican companies and state agencies since Jan. 1. Last year, Miralite sold about $1 million worth of satellite equipment to Mexico. Zerucha projected 1991 sales to Mexico to reach $5 million.
