Authorities are seeking clues in the case of a charred body that firefighters found inside a burned-out car in a remote canyon above Lake View Terrace, the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department said Friday.
The body was found after the fire was extinguished about 10:30 p.m. Thursday, said Deputy Mary Landreth. A passerby spotted the burning car in the 13600 block of Little Tujunga Road about 15 minutes earlier.
Arson and homicide detectives are investigating the incident, Landreth said. The Los Angeles County coroner’s office did not have any information on the cause of death or the identity or sex of the dead person, spokesman Bob Dambacher said.
