ROUNDUP : Kennedy Rocked Early as Crenshaw Prevails

Crenshaw High’s Elgin Chisholm returned the opening kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown and Kennedy never recovered, dropping a 22-15 decision in a nonleague game Friday night at Kennedy High.
Crenshaw converted a two-point conversion for an 8-0 lead, but Kennedy (2-1) came back to score on a one-yard run by Elijah Raphael on its first possession. However, Jeremy Deach’s kick was wide left for an 8-6 deficit. Kennedy never got closer to Crenshaw the rest of the night.
Crenshaw (1-2) took a 15-6 halftime lead when Enos Powell passed 11 yards to Kofi Nartey in the second quarter and boosted the margin to 22-6 early in the fourth quarter on a one-yard run by Duanno Johnson.
Kennedy rallied in the final minutes on a one-yard run by Donte Scarbrough and a 28-yard field goal by Deach.
Raphael carried the ball 16 times for 129 yards for Kennedy.
