Angels Need to Try Some Different Tactics
- Share via
So the Angels want to re-sign Wally Joyner, do they? Good luck. He’ll probably want a five-year contract for $50 million. Lee Stevens can do the job.
Dick Schofield, too? Unfortunately, this nice young man will always be a good-field, not-much-hit player no matter what batting stance he applies. Gary DiSarcina can do the job.
And Dave Winfield? So he doesn’t want to be a designated hitter, and the number of hits he has gotten recently seems to prove that. Almost anyone can do the job.
Let’s build for the Angels’ future with young, hungry ballplayers, not hungry-for-money players who don’t seem to care where the team finishes.
