Chaminade 12, St. Paul 9--Ted Corcoran kicked field goals of 47 and 40 yards, caught a six-yard touchdown pass and made a key defensive play to lead unbeaten Chaminade at home.
Corcoran also halted a St. Paul touchdown drive with 1:34 to play, knocking the ball loose from the hands of St. Paul quarterback Matt Lenzen and recovering the fumble at the one-yard line.
St. Paul (0-5, 0-2) opened the second half with a 12-play, 80-yard drive, capped by a 21-yard touchdown pass from Lenzen to sophomore Andy Tellez, giving the Lancers a 7-6 lead.
But Chaminade (5-0, 2-0) regained the lead on its next possession when quarterback Travis Hall scrambled to avoid several tacklers and hit Corcoran for the team’s only touchdown.
