Canyon 34, Long Beach Millikan 19--Canyon scored 13 points in the final 12 seconds to secure the win at Millikan.
Cowboy lineman Calvin McNeal recovered teammate Mike Torres’ fumble in the end zone to put Canyon ahead, 28-19, with 12 seconds remaining. Torres had carried the ball 11 yards before fumbling at the Millikan one-yard line.
Canyon (3-1-1) scored again on the game’s final play when Andy Cleland picked off a Scott Allen pass and returned it 20 yards for a touchdown as time expired.
Running back Ed Williams paced Canyon’s 137-yard ground attack with 92 yards and two touchdowns in 20 carries.
