Verdugo Hills 15, Hollywood 14--Verdugo Hills scored a touchdown with 42 seconds remaining and added the two-point conversion to record its first victory of the season and spoil Hollywood’s homecoming.
On their last possession, the Dons drove 44 yards to Hollywood’s 31-yard line when Pat Eubanks caught a 31-yard pass from quarterback Jesse Kier in the end zone. Kier then passed to Justin Jamison for the two-point conversion.

Football--The Verdugo Hills High quarterback in the Dons’ 15-14 victory over Hollywood on Friday was misidentified in Saturday’s edition. Tom McGraw connected with Pat Eubanks for a 31-yard touchdown strike with 42 seconds left in the game and then threw for a two-point conversion to win the game.
Hollywood (0-6, 0-3) scored late in the second quarter on a 40-yard run by fullback Mario Trejo.
Verdugo Hills (1-5, 1-2) did not score until the third quarter. Marvin Martinez intercepted a pass by quarterback Jose Granillo and ran 32 yards to the Sheik 23-yard line. Four plays later, Kier scored on a four-yard sneak.
Hollywood grabbed a 14-7 lead with 7:41 left in the fourth quarter on a 30-yard pass from Granillo to flanker Eddy Duarte.
