Ridgecrest Burroughs 20, Palmdale 13--Palmdale took a six-point lead into the fourth quarter but remained winless when visiting Burroughs scored twice within the first three minutes of the final period.
With Palmdale leading, 13-7, Joseph Tuipala scored on a five-yard run and the conversion kick by Chris Marshall gave Burroughs a 14-13 lead. Quarterback Todd Mather then put the game away with an 85-yard run with nine minutes left.
Palmdale (0-7, 0-2) jumped to an early first-quarter lead on Roosevelt Miller’s 75-yard scoring run. Burroughs (4-3, 1-1) tied the score early in the second quarter on a three-yard run by Melvin Lewis.
Palmdale regained the lead in the third quarter when Adam Greenidge scored on a three-yard run for a 13-7 advantage. Palmdale outgained Burroughs in total offense, 256-189.
Palmdale quarterback Terrence Zeno completed 12 of 27 passes for 153 yards with two interceptions. Miller never carried the ball after his long scoring run.
