Kicking the Habit: For every smoker who has kicked the habit, there are lots more who haven’t.
As a result, stores are devoting more space and attention to stop-smoking products. That’s good news for companies like Advantage Life Products Inc. in Laguna Hills, makers of CigArrest products.
K mart Corp. says it is opening special sections devoted to stop-smoking products in each of its stores over the next six months. And Advantage Life says it has received assurances that about half of the space in those sections will feature CigArrest products that the company believes can help smokers give up tobacco.
The K mart decision is only the latest boost for Advantage, which recently announced that it will become the exclusive marketer for the CigArrest line of pills, gum and lozenges. Previously, Advantage had to share marketing of the products with a Carlsbad company called More Direct Response.
