Ferrari, Italy’s Formula One team, fired three-time world champion Alain Prost after a season of frustration and bitter disputes with the French driver.
In a terse announcement five days before the final event of the 1991 Formula One schedule, Ferrari said it had decided to “discontinue its cooperation” with Prost, effective immediately.
