A parolee who was charged with killing a cabdriver six days after his release from prison pleaded guilty Friday to second-degree murder.
Brian Keith Milligan, 26, faces a sentence of 15 years to life in state prison for the July 6 slaying of Radio Cab driver David Curtiss Brown, 36, in a Logan Heights alley.
Milligan also pleaded guilty to attempted robbery, possession of cocaine and possession of a firearm as an ex-felon.
Deputy Dist. Atty. Kristin Anton said Milligan could receive a consecutive sentence of 10 years and eight months on the other charges.
Special-circumstances allegations were dropped in the plea agreement.
San Diego Superior Court Judge Charles Hayes set sentencing for March 10. Milligan remains in County Jail in lieu of $5 million bail.
Milligan was paroled June 30 from the California Men’s Colony in San Luis Obispo, where he had served a term for petty theft with a prior conviction.
