PIRU : Cleanup Continues at Lake Piru Marina
- Share via
Nearly two weeks after back-to-back storms unleashed flash floods and mudslides on Ventura County, Lake Piru is feeling the ripple effects.
Swollen by flood water run-off from Piru Creek, the lake has been stained a muddy-brown and choked with debris including branches, logs and bottles.
A cleanup operation, which is centered around the marina on the east side of the lake, has been in progress since Saturday and could take another two weeks to complete, said Peter Cervantez, a marina employee.
Officials have suspended water skiing on the lake until the clean-up operation is completed, Cervantez said.
