A UC San Diego student who was raped this week in the bedroom of her campus apartment by a knife-wielding man has told university police that the same man sexually assaulted her two months ago.
The 18-year-old sophomore said the assailant who confronted her in her bedroom at the Warren apartment complex Tuesday afternoon also raped her Jan. 8, Detective Douglas O’Dell said.
The young woman did not report the first rape, which also occurred in her bedroom, O’Dell said, adding that he did not know why she did not.
The rapist was described as white, about 21 years old, 6-foot-2, 200 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a white T-shirt with black lettering, black shorts and white tennis shoes, O’Dell said.
Police have issued a community alert bulletin on campus and plan to release a composite sketch of the rapist, O’Dell said.
