More Orion Losses: Orion Pictures, the now-bankrupt studio that made a string of acclaimed films, including the Oscar-winning “The Silence of the Lambs,” reported significant losses for the quarter ended Nov. 30, 1991. The company announced a net loss from continuing operations of $29.2 million, or $1.30 a share. Orion had reported a net loss of 75 cents per share for the year-earlier quarter. The studio and its subsidiaries in December filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy code protection. Another independent film company, New Line Cinema, is seeking to purchase Orion.
