Nation IN BRIEF : NORTH CAROLINA : Jury’s Marathon Session Continues

A Farmville, N.C., jury completed 10 days of deliberations--the longest such session in state history--and still had not reached a verdict on Robert F. Kelly Jr., 43, charged with 100 counts of sexually abusing 12 children at a day care center. Superior Court Judge D. Marsh McLelland, at first angry with the panel, relented and let them leave at midafternoon, 1 1/2 hours early. They were ordered to return Monday.
