Train Hits Garbage Truck in Mississippi; 10 Injured

POPLARVILLE, Miss. — An Amtrak train on its way to New York from New Orleans struck a garbage truck and derailed Thursday morning, slightly injuring 10 people, authorities said.
The train was carrying about 60 passengers and 10 crew members, an Amtrak spokesman said. The truck driver had left his truck when its undercarriage got stuck on the track.
