The head of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Van Nuys Division, which oversees Van Nuys and most of Sherman Oaks, will speak in Sherman Oaks today about crime in the area and community policing.
Capt. John Mutz, who took over command of the division about a month ago, also will be available to answer questions at the meeting sponsored by the Sherman Oaks Homeowners Assn.
“We want to know what’s happening in the community as far as crime,” said the group’s president, Richard H. Close.
The meeting, which is open to the public, will be held at 8 p.m. at Union Federal Savings, 13300 Ventura Blvd.
