LANCASTER : Local Fund-Raiser Joins Hospital Board
- Share via
Hank Marvin, the operator of an insurance agency and head of the fund-raising organization at Antelope Valley Hospital Medical Center in Lancaster, was appointed Tuesday to fill a vacant seat on the public hospital’s five-member governing board.
The hospital’s board voted 3 to 0 for Marvin to fill the term of Larry Parker, who resigned last month. Parker’s term expires in November.
Marvin, 54, is chairman of the Stephen B. Marvin Agency and head of the 2005 Council, a private group that raises money for the hospital.
The appointment completes an overhaul of the hospital’s board that began in April with the recall of board members Steve Fox and Anne Brouillette. It continued last month with the resignation of Dr. Harvey Birsner, an ally of the two ousted board members. Now only board chairman Dr. Ralph Holmes predates the recall.
