Sending U.S. Troops to Kuwait

The incumbent commander in chief reminds me of a story from Vietnam. Mortar men used to toy with the enemy, lobbing mortars to his left or his right, making the man run in a vain attempt to get out of range. Once they grew bored, they lobbed over the finishing touch and wasted him.
So George Bush could have finished the job in Iraq, as I served on the carrier USS Ranger through Operation Desert Storm. But Bush, in the infinite patience and confidence of his position, has strung out Saddam Hussein for the 1992 election.
The question remains whether we will stay the course, and trust Clinton and Gore to clean up after Bush predictably brings this to a boil. Or whether we will succumb to a mob frenzy in November.
