PACOIMA : Market’s License to Sell Alcohol Is Revoked by State

A Pacoima market that police called the “No. 1 problem” among liquor outlets in the northeast San Fernando Valley had its license to sell alcoholic beverages revoked this week by the state Department of Alcohol Beverage Control.
But neighbors said that the Pacoima Food Market, which had been cited over the past seven years for repeated violations, such as selling alcohol to minors, has been closed most of the summer. No one answered the telephone at the market, which is owned by Farah Ammari.
Thursday’s action by state authorities makes it illegal for Ammari to sell alcohol at his store.
